Maxillary Sinusitis of Endodontic Origin: A Clinical Update
Because of the proximity of the maxillary sinus to the maxillary posterior teeth, infections in the posterior maxillary teeth can readily spread into the sinus cavity causing maxilary sinusitis of endodontic origin (MSEO). This pathology is both common and readily treatable. Cone beam CT imaging has made its diagnosis quite simple. This presentation will review this common pathology, and discuss its diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, indications for medical referral will be reviewed.
The course will be presented virtually on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. The Zoom link will be sent to the email used for registration. Please include your AGD number, if appropriate.
Participants will:
● Understand the pathophysiology of MSEO
● Recognize how to diagnose this pathology and the need for CBCT imaging in diagnosis
● Learn how to treat MSEO, including when adjunctive medical management is necessary
Upon completion of the course, participants will understand the how to both diagnose and treat MSEO, and will recognize when medical referral is indicated.
Following the course, participants will receive access to an online portal containing course content and cited research and literature.
